It’d be really cool if breakfast was served in a C hevy hubcap.

This was my view at breakfast yesterday am:

Bellingham? I feel like I have been there.

Whenever I venture out into the middle of America I always find a Cracker Barrel and get Uncle Herschel’s Favorite while dining around rusty farm tools and nick knacks.

Looks like all the tables have a sewing machine base. Cool idea.

Just the mention of BBQ would normally make me immediately want to eat some good brisket, but I ate good brisket for lunch, so I’m bueno.
I think we’re going to Chili’s for dinner. :(

The old farts ate at CB today. Saw Uncle Herschel’ s on the menu but didn’t even read it. I will next time. Ta. Usually get a Gra ndma Special. Do love their Hashbrown casserole.

Now you have me curious, where?

Smokey Mo’s.

I usually get the magherita (margarita?) chicken. Just a simple grilled chicken breast on a bed of rice. Low fat, low sodium, not a huge serving.

I forget all the stuff there, it’s just a crazy place for me coming from Hawaii. I guess when you guys go out to Hawaii they have tiki places and it’s kind of the same. Uncle Herschel’s has catfish and eggs etc.. I just like it.

Not familiar. Where is it on a scale of Bucees BBQ to Franklin?
![]() 10/30/2020 at 23:11 |

On the Buccee’s end of the scale.

Allright then, on to Rudy’s.

I’ve never had Bucc-ee’s brisket, but I wouldn’t say it was that bad. I had chopped brisket since I’m still working on healing up from a wisdom tooth pull. I liked it well enough, but my kids all said that Rudy’s is better. Rudy’s definitely has better potatoes and slaw.

I’ve never had Bucc-ee’s brisket, but I’m guessing that’s towards the bottom of the scale. I have had Franklin’s, and I would put that near the top of anything I’ve ever had . As for Mo’s, I had chopped brisket since I’m still working on healing up from a wisdom tooth pull. I liked it well enough, but my kids all said that Rudy’s brisket is better. Rudy’s definitely has better potatoes and slaw. Some folks on Oppo don’t have nice things to say about Rudy’s, but I’m a fan.

I like Rudy’s, I’d put it solidly in the upper middle of BBQ.

What I like about it is that it’s super consistent.

Part of it for me is definitely nostalgia, like Chuys and Schlotzkeys, from growing up in Round Rock.
